Travel Tips

I also wanted to give you a few tips and tricks for your upcoming getaway! Use these to make the most out of your vacation.

  • Bring a camera! Whether it’s your phone, a digital camera, or a film camera, make sure you have plenty of space to capture all of your memories.
  • Before leaving, make two copies of your passport and leave one with your travel agent or family member and bring one with you.
  • Pack a small, carry on bag of necessities (i.e. money, ID, medicine) and a larger carry on bag with additional outfits and items. You never know when your bag may go missing, especially when flying. I have mastered the art of getting by with just carry on bags as many checked bags go missing or are delayed. If you do check a bag, I recommend getting an Apple Air Tag so you know where your checked bag is at all times.
  • Leave room for spontaneity. An itinerary is important and can relieve you of planning anxiety. However, you never know when you’ll come across a new restaurant, want to add an additional hike, or stop on the road to your destination. Don’t plan your time so tight that you forget to enjoy it!
  • Keep your friends and family updated, especially when traveling solo. Greta & Co. helps you travel safely, but it never hurts to make sure your family knows where you are. Plus, they’ll want to hear all about your trip!
  • Get to know your destination. Before AND during. Do your research before you arrive so you have an idea of what to expect from the city/state/country. While you’re there, fully immerse yourself in the local culture and surroundings.

Travel Checklist

I wouldn’t leave you without a packing list! I recommend packing several days before you leave for your trip to leave room for any trips to the store or remembering forgotten items. While this list isn’t comprehensive, and your destination should be kept in mind, it’s a great place to start.

  • ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Money/Foreign Currency
  • Credit/Debit Card
  • Travel Confirmations/Documents
  • Toiletries (+ sunscreen)
  • Medicine Bag
  • Walking Shoes
  • Warm Coats, Rain Jacket
  • Changes of Clothes (bring extra!)
  • Belts
  • Hats
  • Swimsuit
  • Sunglasses
  • Cell Phone
  • International Phone Plan
  • Chargers (+ adapters)
  • Camera

I hope you found these resources and tips helpful as you pack for your next big adventure. If you want to take the stress out of vacation planning, I would LOVE to help you and stand by your side every step of the way.
